Helically Coiled inserts

Inserts for Metal are provided in many forms and range from helicoiled threads found from Kato (tm) or Helicoil (tm) to a full bodied insert with thread such as those provided by Keensert (tm)

The heli-coiled type of  inserts are typically used in a softer material such as Brass or Aluminum. These place stronger thread into the softer parent material to enable the threads of a fastener a stonger clamp or mating force. An example would be a aluminum plate or engine block with a steel or stainless steel coiled insert installed in to a pre drilled and tapped hole. With the insert installed the threads of the mating fastener will not strip out as they would if the threads were created in the original parent material. The insert give the parent material a greater torque value than can be found in the original base or parent material

Please contact me for information on any form of insert you would have an interest in. The main suppliers but not limited to are: Kato, Helicoil, Keensert, Dodge

Inserts for Plastics

Inserts for plastics create a strong mating thread in the softer  plastic materials. Inserts can vary in installation process but the basic formats are molded in, pressed in,or ultrasonic installation. Molded in inserts are placed in the molds used in the plastic forming process and the plastic is molded around the threaded bodied insert. Pressed in inserts are pressed into the plastic in a prepared hole. Ultrasonic inserts are inserted with an arbor press and an ultrasonic horn that creates the vibration- heating of the insert and placement into the plastic.  Please contact me for greater details on the options available.
Primary line for Inserts used in plastics and PC board applications are from Standard Insert (tm) a division of PEM manufacturing.
